Nico Restricted Egress Hinge
The Nico Restricted Egress Friction Hinge combines the features of standard restrictor and egress only hinges. It provides protection against falling through windows in an initial restricted mode, and then offers a quick escape route in the event of a fire in the egress position. Supplied in matched pairs, the restricted egress hinge is fitted to the bottom of the sash with a matched unrestricted egress hinge fitted to the top. The single restrictor button is integral to the hinge and is designed to be less tempting to children, and the hinge automatically resets after closure from the egress position.

Technical Data
The Restricted Egress Hinge is manufactured in stainless steel and offers excellent load bearing characteristics. It is available in handed 13mm and 17mm stack heights. Slotted fixing holes in the base channel and sash bar, with a final fixing hole in each component, provide maximum sash/frame adjustment. The all stainless steel nose-cap is riveted on to the hinge for extra strength and rivet holes are counterbored in a 3 stage manufacturing process. This means parts are manufactured to tight tolerances and ensures reliable operation of the finished hinges. The friction slide is made from high strength glass reinforced nylon with an adjustable resistance screw to regulate friction.
It is recommended that fabricators check all restricted openings to ensure they comply with Building Regulations, as vent sizes and profile variations will affect 100 mm opening.
Fitting instructions for Nico Restricted Egress Hinges are provided in the Restricted Egress Friction Hinges pdf and the Friction Hinge Fitting Guide link in related downloads.
